Mi Segunda Semana en EEUU (My second week in America)

Lunes, 10 de diciembre

Al iniciar mi segunda semana este lunes estuve en casa arreglando mi cuarto por que Allie fue a su universidad para dar los exámenes finales de  su semestre. Y en la noche ir al grupo de Allie donde ella dirigía la alabanza, canto por mucho tiempo en la práctica y en el culto junto con los demás chicos que cantaban esta noche, al regresar a casa en una gran conversación con Allie sobre la iglesia y los hábitos de los cristianos responsabilidades que algunos están muy mal hacerlos y necesitan cambiar, y muchas cosas más.

Martes, 11 y Miércoles, 12 de diciembre

Cada día diferente pero casi haciendo lo mismo. Despertarme para arreglar mi cuarto, tomar una ducha, desayunar y hablar con la familia y amigos que desean saber cómo estoy. En la tarde hasta la noche fuimos con Allie a su trabajo y regresar a casa para descansar.

Jueves, 13 de diciembre

Este fue un día muy interesante para conocer las actividades que Allie hace por las fiestas de Navidad. Después el trabajo fuimos a la Iglesia para estar en la Cantata, comer postres muy deliciosos escuchar a un coro cantar villancicos y alabanzas a Dios mu y divertido y la comida muy rica. La jefa de Allie iba a llegar muy tarde a casa así necesitábamos estar más tiempo en el trabajo hasta muy tarde mirando televisión y Allie durmiendo. Ella avía leído que iba a haber una lluvia de meteoritos así cuando íbamos a casa tomamos tiempo para mirarlos fue hermoso compartir este momento con ella.

Viernes, 14 de diciembre

En este día desperté un poco tarde porque dormimos tarde porque vimos la lluvia de meteoritos y nos preparamos para ir a un café donde Allie cantaba. Ella condujo por mucho tiempo y casi la mayoría del viaje dormí. Estábamos muy cerca de la playa así fui a conocer la playa en la noche, fue divertido sentir mucho frio en la playa porque es invierno, pero en ecuador siempre hace calor en la playa. Después fuimos a cenar en Fridays comida muy rica, pude compartir tiempo con Brian es muy divertido y compartir momentos con él es muy divertido.

Sábado, 15 de diciembre

Despertamos muy temprano para hacer compras de navidad para la familia y amigos, fuimos de tienda en tienda buscando los regalos indicados para cada uno de ellos. A la vez estresante pero divertido. Conocer una tienda muy grande de montañismo y estar como un niño en una dulcería teniendo muchas cosas todas te gusta pero tendrás que esperar que Santa Claus te las deje bajo el árbol. Regresamos a casa para dejar los regalos y tuvimos que salir otra vez para ir a una tienda donde compras cosas de segunda mano (ropa, juguetes, cosas para la casa, adornos y decoraciones). Aquí compramos dos suéteres y muchas decoraciones para crear nuestros propios suéteres de navidad, fue muy divertido y creo que los suéteres quedaron muy lindos.

Cuando regresamos de comprar las cosas para los suéteres, junto con los padres de Allie y mi novia juntos terminamos de decorar y poner adornos en el árbol mirar muchas cosas interesantes y escuchar muchas historias divertidas y escuchar que soy parte de la familia. Gracias Dios por esta familia muy hermosa.

Domingo, 16 de diciembre

Me desperté para prepararme para ir a la iglesia. Fui solo con los padres de Allie porque ella se sentía mal con su estómago así fui con ellos. Ya en la iglesia sin que alguien pueda traducirme el culto o algo que no entienda creo que mi cerebro comenzó a trabajar el doble porque necesitaba entender. Y creo que Dios me dio el entendimiento y entendí mucho.

Después del almuerzo hicimos nuestros propios suéteres de navidad y quedaron muy chéveres, con muchas decoraciones y muchas cosas lindas nuestros nombres en la espalda el mío Santy Claus y para Allie Mrs. Claus.

Nos preparamos para ir a mi primera fiesta de navidad en EEUU, cuando fuimos habían muchas personas y estaban felices por mirar nuestros suéteres, poder compartir con amigos del grupo de estudio bíblico. Jugamos bingo navideño y estuve muy cerca de ganar por dos veces pero no pude hacerlo, también llevamos regalos y cada persona tenía un número y el numero uno tomaba un regalos de una mesa que estaba en el centro pero los demás números también podían tomar un regalo de la mesa pero podían robar a otra persona su regalos y la persona que se quedaba sin regalo tomaba otro de la mesa a mí no me robaron nunca pero a Allie le robaron 2 veces. Muy divertida la fiesta muchas risas, compartimos mucho y también ganamos una tarjeta de regalo con nuestros suéteres porque teníamos los suéteres más festivos en toda la fiesta.

Una semana muy buena y divertida, viviendo tradiciones de EEUU y haciendo muchas cosas para tener una mejor experiencia, seguir compartiendo tiempo con mi novia, conocer más de su cultura. Entender mucho más el Ingles aunque está tomando más tiempo el poder hablarlo. Reconocí que las cosas no las puedo hacerlas solo y he necesitado tiempo para que mi cerebro pueda entender este idioma pero voy por buen camino. Dios me está ayudando mucho su gracia se presenta en todo momento.

Mi gran padre no sé cómo agradecerte todo lo que has bendecido en este tiempo en EEUU, tan solo la honra y la gloria para ti padre gracias por tu amor y por la ayuda que me das para mi estadía aquí junto con mi novia, su familia, sus amigos, su cultura, que ahora comienzo a entender gracias a ti mi Dios… Muchas gracias por bendecirme mucho… Bendice a mi familia en Ecuador, a la familia de mi novia, a los nuevos amigos que estoy conociendo, a mis amigos que siempre quieren saber cómo estoy y me dan muchos ánimos, a mi relación y lo que nos permites vivir. Monday, December 10th, 2012

The start of my second week! This Monday I was at the house cleaning my room because Allie went to school to take her finals. At night I went to her college group where she led worship. She practiced for a while before they sang for the group at night. When we were returning from the group, Allie and I had a great conversation about church and Christian habits and responsibilities- some that are bad and need to change, as well as other things.

Tuesday, December 11^th & Wednesday, December 12^th

Everyday is different but almost doing the same. I woke up to clean my room, take a shower, eat breakfast, and talk with my family and friends that want to know how I’m doing. In the afternoon until nighttime Allie and I go to her work and come back home to sleep.

Thursday, December 13^th

This was a very interesting day getting to know some activities Allie does for Christmas parties. After work, we went to her church to be in a cantata. We ate delicious desserts and listened to a choir sing carols and praises to God. It was very fun, and the food was good. Allie’s boss was going to come back really late, so we needed to stay at her work for more time. I watched TV, and Allie slept. She had read that there was going to be a meteor shower, so when we were going to leave the house, we took some time to watch them. It was beautiful to share this moment with her.

Friday, December 14^th

In this day I woke up a little bit later because we went to bed late because of the meteor shower. We got ready to go to a coffeehouse where Allie sang. She drove for a long time, and most of the time I slept. We were very close to the beach, so I got to see the beach at night. It was fun, but it was freezing there because it’s winter, and it was nighttime. In Ecuador the beach is always warm. Afterwards we went to dinner at Friday’s. The food was delicious, and I was able to spend some time with Brian (Allie’s friend). It was fun spending time with them.

Saturday, December 15^th

We woke up very early to buy Christmas gifts for family and friends. We went to from store to store looking for specific gifts for each of them. It was stressful but fun! I got to see this big mountain store and was like a little kid in a candy store with all these things that I liked, but I have to just hope that Santa Claus put them under the tree. We came back home to leave the presents and then went out again to go to Goodwill, a secondhand store, to buy used things (clothes, games, house things, decorations, etc.). We bought two sweaters and a lot of decorations to create our own Christmas sweaters. It was fun, and I think they were cute sweaters.

When we came back after buying the sweaters, Allie’s family and I finished decorating and putting ornaments on the tree. I saw interesting things and heard many funny stories. They told me that I’m part of the family. Thank you, God, for this beautiful family.

Sunday, December 16^th

I woke up to get ready for church. I went with Allie’s parents because Allie’s stomach wasn’t feeling well. In church there wasn’t anyone to translate for me or anything, so I didn’t understand. I think my brain started to work double because I had to actually understand English. I think that God gave me the understanding, so I understood a lot.

After lunch we made our own Christmas sweaters, and they turned out really cool with a lot of decorations and cute things. We had our names on the back- mine said Santy Claus and Allie’s said Mrs. Claus.

Then we got ready to go to my first American Christmas party. When we went, there was a lot of people, and they were happy to see our sweaters. I was able to spend time with my friends from the Bible study group. We played Christmas Bingo, and I was so close to winning twice but I didn’t. We also brought gifts, and everyone got a number. The number one person took a gift from the table that was in the center, but the other people’s numbers also could take a gift from the table yet they could also steal a gift from another person. The person that has their gift stolen from them takes another gift from the table. I wasn’t stolen from, but Allie was stolen from twice. It was a fun party with a lot of laughter, and we shared a lot. We also won a gift card with our Christmas sweaters because we had the most festive sweaters in the whole party.

This was a very good and fun week living the traditions of America and doing a lot of things to have the best experiences, continue spending time with my girlfriend, and getting to know more about her culture. I understood more English, even though it’s taking me more time to be able to speak it. I realized there are a lot of things that I can’t do alone, and I have needed time for my brain to be able to understand this language, but I’m on the right track. God is helping me so much with his grace He’s giving me in every moment.

My great Father, I don’t know how to thank You for all that You have blessed me with in this time in America- just that all of the honor and glory to You, Father. Thank You for Your love and for the help that You give me in my stay here with my girlfriend, her family, her friends, and her culture that I am now starting to understand thanks to You, God. Thank you so much for blessing me so much. Bless all my family in Ecuador, my girlfriend’s family, all our new friends that I’m getting to know, all my friends that always want to know how I am and are always encouraging me, my relationship, and all that you have allowed us to live.
